A New Era Begins: San Francisco GAA Makes Live Streaming Debut on Clubber TV

For decades, San Francisco GAA has welcomed players from Ireland and around the world. They've built lives here, raised families here, and played some of the finest Gaelic Games in North America. But when family and friends back home asked, "Can we watch the match?" the answer was always the same.

Until now.

This Saturday, San Francisco GAA begins a new chapter with its first-ever live broadcast through a new partnership with Clubber TV.

The Championship Cup doubleheader from Páirc na nGael marks two historic firsts: the first live broadcast in San Francisco GAA history and Clubber's first-ever livecast from North America.

For the first time, supporters across the United States, Ireland, and around the world will be able to watch Championship Cup action from San Francisco live or watch later on demand.

But this partnership is about more than cameras and broadcasts.

It's about grandparents in Ireland watching their son or daughter take the field in San Francisco. It's about former teammates staying connected after moving away. It's about introducing new audiences to Gaelic Sports in Northern California. And it's about giving the athletes who train every week the audience their commitment deserves.

"This is an exciting milestone for San Francisco GAA and for Gaelic Games on the West Coast," said Seamus Collins, Chairperson of the San Francisco GAA. "For years, our players have represented their clubs with tremendous pride, but family, friends, and supporters around the world haven't always had the opportunity to watch them compete. Through our partnership with Clubber TV, we're able to showcase the quality of our Championship Cup while bringing our community closer together. We hope this is the beginning of a new chapter that helps grow Gaelic Games throughout North America."

A Partnership That Connects Communities

San Francisco GAA is proud to partner with Clubber TV, Ireland's leading streaming platform for club-level Gaelic Games. By expanding into North America, Clubber will help to connect Gaelic communities across the globe while making competitions like the Championship Cup accessible to supporters wherever they live.

"We are delighted to be partnering with SFGAA. This comes at a time when the game in the U.S. continues to go from strength to strength," said Mark Ryan, Operations Director of Clubber TV. "Clubber is pleased to be able to shine a light on the quality of the SFGAA Championships so that fans around the world can enjoy these great matchups."

North America's Premier Hurling Rivalry

The opening broadcast begins at 11:30 am Pacific / 7:30 pm Irish Time with the premier hurling rivalry in North America as defending USGAA Senior Hurling champions Tipperary San Francisco face their arch-rivals Na Fianna.

Tipperary vs. Na Fianna Hurling Club at Páirc na nGael on Treasure Island.

For nearly a decade, these clubs have set the standard for hurling on this continent, building one of the fiercest rivalries in North American Gaelic Games across the junior, intermediate, and senior ranks.

They've already met twice during this year's Championship Cup, and both contests have delivered the kind of drama supporters have come to expect.

The opening match ended in heartbreak for Tipperary after Na Fianna scored in the closing moments to steal a one-point victory.

A week later, Na Fianna again prevailed, this time by three points after another fiercely contested battle.

Now comes Game Three.

Saturday is Game Three of the best-of-five Championship Cup series. After winning the first two matches, Na Fianna needs just one more victory to capture the San Francisco Senior Hurling Championship Cup. That makes it a must-win match for defending champions Tipperary. A victory would force a Game Four and keep their Championship Cup hopes alive.

A Massive Football Match Follows

At 1:00 pm Pacific / 9:00 pm Irish Time, the spotlight shifts to Senior Men's Football as Ulster takes on unbeaten Sean Treacy's.

Sean Treacy's opened the Championship Cup with impressive victories over Éire Óg and previously unbeaten Young Irelanders to establish themselves among the Championship Cup favorites.

Ulster rebounded from an opening loss with a convincing nine-point victory over Éire Óg and now looks to continue its climb toward Finals Day on August 2.

With valuable Championship Cup points on the line, Saturday's football clash could play a decisive role in determining who advances to the Championship Cup Finals.

From Treasure Island to the World

Both matches will be played at Páirc na nGael on Treasure Island, the only dedicated, regulation-sized Gaelic Sports pitch in the Western United States. Since opening in 2008, Páirc na nGael has become the home of Gaelic Games in Northern California and one of the premier GAA venues in North America.

Whether you're following Tipperary, Na Fianna, Ulster, Sean Treacy's, a family member, a former teammate, or simply enjoy outstanding Gaelic Games, you'll now be able to experience Championship Cup action from San Francisco wherever you are in the world.

Saturday marks the beginning of a new era for San Francisco GAA.

We hope you'll join us for history.
