The San Francisco GAA looks forward to building on its longstanding relationship with the Irish Consulate in San Francisco.
With the Blue Angels practicing overhead, Ireland’s new Consul General in San Francisco, Marianne Bolger, visited Páirc na nGael on Treasure Island for the first time.
USGAA Chairperson Paul Keane and San Francisco GAA (USGAA Western Division) Chairperson Seamus Collins welcomed Consul General Bolger and her husband, Stephen McNally, for a tour of the facility, including the only regulation-sized Gaelic sports pitch west of Chicago and the San Francisco GAA bar and clubhouse.
The visit included a productive discussion about the relationship between the San Francisco GAA and the Irish Consulate, as well as opportunities to work more closely together in support of the Irish community throughout the Bay Area.
The San Francisco GAA has long valued its relationship with the Consulate and looks forward to building on that foundation. Through closer collaboration, both organizations can help strengthen connections with the Irish diaspora, raise awareness of Gaelic games, and celebrate the culture and community that bring people together.
Páirc na nGael is more than a place to play Gaelic football, hurling, and camogie. It is a gathering place for the Irish community and a home for the traditions that connect generations, from Ireland and beyond.
We thank Consul General Bolger for her visit and look forward to continuing to build this relationship in the years ahead.
Croí Éireannach. Spiorad an Iarthair. 💚
